Brief History

The story of Royal Enfield Motorcycles began in the 1880’s with the Townsend Cycle Company. The organization moved on to become the Enfield Cycle Company and then Royal Enfield Motorcycles. Across time, some magnificent machines were built. In early 1931 with the model JS, they created the forerunner of the very popular Bullet range. Royal Enfield Motors later opened a plant in India at Chennai, and it lives to this day true to the memory of its creators. Crafting the legends that defy time itself.
